Published On: 2024-10-01

On July 29, 2024, we had the honor of welcoming a distinguished guest to our school: Subedar Major (Retd.) Yogendra Singh Yadav, PVC. As a brave army officer and a hero of the Kargil War, he shared his invaluable experiences and wisdom with our students. Born on May 10, 1980, in Aurangabad Ahir, Uttar Pradesh, Yogendra Yadav is the youngest recipient of India’s highest military award, the Param Vir Chakra, which he received at just 19 years old for his courageous actions during the Kargil War. His father, Karan Singh Yadav, served in the Kumaon Regiment and participated in both the 1965 and 1971 Indo-Pakistan wars, instilling a sense of duty and valor in him from a young age. Yogendra joined the Indian Army at the age of 16 and has since become an inspiring figure for many. His speech today left a profound impact on our students, reminding them of the values of bravery, dedication, and service to the nation. We are deeply grateful for his visit and the important lessons he imparted to our gurukul community.
