The Bhaktivedanta Gurukula and International School (BGIS) is located in the beautiful holy land of Sri Vrindavan Dham, the abode of Lord Sri Krishna. It offers the best of both worlds - traditional alongside modern education. Founder acharya of ISKCON A.C. Bhaktivedanta Srila Prabhupada laid the cornerstone of BGIS in 1976 and established BGIS with a need to inculcate real education in the youth of today. With the motto ‘simple living, high thinking’ the education comprises of meditation along with modern education running in parallel with value-based development. Every year Gurukul accepts students from all over India and abroad, it is a boarding school for boys with the campus covering over 100 acres and equipped with all modern amenities.

HARE KRISHNA,
I am extremely pleased to let you know that the first phase of our new campus
in Vrindaranyam campus near Ajhai has been completed. In this year 2018,
we have celebrated Janmashtami in this new campus. We conducted an
academic cum spiritual camp in November 2018. Our students are very inspired
and enlivened to enjoy the most modern facilities along with the mode of
goodness ambience.
The large space along with sporting facilities made them feel liberated. During these camps, students were engaged in project based learning like sky gazing, organic farming, Robot based puppet dance, physics and chemistry labs, waste management, eco-friendly housing and water filtering. They also learn and practice yoga during these camps under expert guidance. The special emphasis on learning English and Mathematics in an innovative way is another feature of this camp. Students are looking forward to the complete shifting of the school in March 2019. These camps are just a sample glimpse of what is in store for our kids.
Thank you very much for keeping your trust in us which enabled us to set up this world class facility for the kids. We are striving hard to make sure that BGIS students become future role models as leaders, administrators, scientists and entrepreneurs. Dr. Lila Purushottam Das
Dr. Lila Purushottam Das is serving as Director of BGIS. He has worked as a faculty member in IIT, Kanpur, University of Ulster UK, BITS Pilani, BI Mumbai, and ETH, Zurich. He has published more than 120 papers in various international and national journals as well as conference proceedings. He is determined to strive hard to bring this school to a level of international repute in terms of academic performance and real-life skills.
Meet the Founder
The cornerstone of Bhaktivedanta Gurukula and International School (BGIS) was laid by
ISKCON Founder Acharya A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Srila Prabhupada, the Founder Acharya of
International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON). He laid the corner-stone in 1975
with a vision of imparting complete education in a spiritual setting.
The basis of knowledge is to “Question our Experience”. Knowledge brings in freedom and
fearlessness. The meaning of complete education is that the students who get complete knowledge
are capable of giving direction to society. They can bring in revolution within the society in
a more meaningful manner.
The Bhaktivedanta model of education is based on Indian Gurukula style of education adapted
to contemporary societal needs. BGIS offers the best of both worlds - traditional and modern,
Vedic and contemporary, spiritual and temporal. As an International School, we offer the
students
the world class quality education. Simultaneously students inculcate spiritual values based on
teaching given in Bhagavad-Gita. Thus, the BGIS experience gives a student the opportunity to
excel in his studies while holding on to spiritual values. The outcome is a well balanced
individual ready to take on life’s challenges. Each feature of BGIS is geared to bring out
