Bhaktivedanta Gurukula and International School celebrated its Boat Festival of Sri Radha Madhav on the most auspicious day of Akshay Tritiya on Saturday, May 15.
The festivities began with the Deities being taken out from the temple to the Kaliya Krishna Pond in front of the academic building, accompanied by many devotees performing the congregational chanting of the holy names of the Lord.

Multitudes of flower petals had been arrayed on the water, forming decorative designs, and the banks looked equally appealing, decorated with banana plants and flower garlands.

Prior to the Deities being taken onto the boat, HG Krishnanand Prabhu delivered a short lecture on the significance of Akshaya Tritiya. The deities were then taken on to the elegant boat.

With Radhakant Prabhuji's kirtan roaring in the background, the divine couple went around the pond, all the while being showered with flower petals by the residents of Vrindaranyam. As the kirtan reached its peak, several devotees even plunged into the water to tag along.

As the festival neared its end, the deities were taken back to the altar and were again given a ceremonial worship. The pond was then opened to everyone, and several devotees were seen collecting remnants of the water and Maha-prashadam left in the boat.
Varieties of delicious prashadams were distributed to all devotees assembled, and thrills of joy were heard from all around the campus. The coordinated efforts of all temple devotees were visible to make the festivity a grand event.
