The Bhaktivedanta Gurukula and International School celebrates today, 8th of December 2019 the Gita Jayanti Festival at Ajhai, Vrindavan
The Bhagavad Gita is considered as the most important scripture for its philosophical, practical and spiritual value. The Gita Jayanti marks the advent of this holy book, which is an annual celebration to commemorate the day when Lord Krishna imparted the essence of Vedic knowledge to His dear most friend, Arjuna on the first day of the epic battle of Kurukshetra.
Students, parents, teachers, and staff assembled together at BGIS prasadam hall to recite in unison all the 700 verses of the most sacred Vedic literature. Each class took its turn to lead the chanting of each chapter from Gita. Even the small boys participated in leading the recitation. The reverberation of spiritual vibration from the loud chanting of each sacred text elated the consciousness into greater domains. Students from Nandgaon Girl's School (Braj Gopika Vidya Mandal) took part also in this celebration. Srimati Anju Malhotra, the Principal of Heritage Public School in Vrindavan also joined the recitation.
Gita quiz was organized for primary schools and a wonderful ekadasi prasad was served to everyone
