BGIS hosts Krishnanushilanam online 2020

'Krishnanushilanam 2020' was a grand success where students from 28 countries and 6 continents were provided with a big platform to exhibit heart throbbing and lively
performances in front of the world online. 'Krishnanushilanam' is the annual inter-school cultural festival organized by Bhaktivedanta Gurukula and International School to celebrate the divine appearance of Lord Krishna. The restrictions brought about COVID-19 pandemic could not stop the school from hosting and participating in cultural programs and competitions. Bhaktivedanta Gurukula and International School, in collaboration with Bhaktivedanta Club IIT Kanpur and IIT Patna, organized the fest online, which had a host of competitions from August 08 to 12.
Krishnanushilanam attracted nearly 19000 students from schools worldwide to participate in 49 competitions divided into different categories for different age groups between 1-18 years. Krishna book quiz, extempore, blog writing, poetry writing, fancy dress, poem recitation, speech, dance, art, instrumental performance, mono-acting, and other competitions were the major highlights of the 3-day festival.
Eminent personalities from all spheres of life with their remarkable contribution to society graced the occasion to judge participants' performances. Some of our notable judges were Vivek Bindra (CEO, badabusiness.com), Atul Gupta (President ICAI), Virendra Gupta (MLA, Delhi), and Shubha Vilas Das (Author and TEDx speaker).
The response to the events had been overwhelming, with enthusiastic participants from different parts of the world. As is the norm with Bhaktivedanta Gurukula, Krishnanushilanam 2020 concluded with a closing ceremony (grand finale) on the day of Janamashtami in which winners and participants were addressed by HH Gopal Krishna Maharaj (GBC ISKCON), Lila Purushottam Das (BGIS Director and Professor at IIT Kanpur), Vivek Binda ( Renowned Motivational Speaker), and Laxminarayan Chaudhary ( Cabinet Minister). Students were given awards and online certificates. Prizes worth 4 lacs were distributed among the winners. Dance and music showcases by students through videos were a part of the valedictory
