BGIS has a culture of celebrating Guru Purnima day where the seniors students take a charge of teaching their fellow juniors on this day. The same tradition was followed today also. And the children were Traditionally, Guru Purnima has been celebrated by Buddhists to commemorate Gautam Buddha's first sermon to his first five disciples in Uttar Pradesh's Sarnath however, Hindus and Jains also celebrate this festival to revere their teachers. It's dedicated to all the spiritual and academic Gurus.

On this day generally, students show gratitude towards the teachers and gurus. Also known as Budhha Purnima, it is celebrated on a full moon day or Purnima in the month of Ashadha, according to the Hindu calendar.

Guru Purnima day at BGIS started with Guru puja, offering flowers to Srila Prabhupada showing our heartfelt gratitude to him.
Students wanted to thank their beloved teachers for imparting knowledge to young
minds is not an easy thing. So they wanted to take a charge of the junior class and appreciate each teacher for the immense hard work they put in the whole year. This year also students from 8th-10th were assigned to different junior classes for each subject. It's really appreciable as they came up and took the service for a day. All the classes were fixed accordingly and the timetable was put on. Everyone, especially the teachers was very excited to see their students act in their place. Class taken by the seniors was enjoyed a lot by the junior children.
