BGIS celebrates Lord Jagannath Rath Yatra with devotional fervour.

Coinciding with the Ratha Yatra festival at Puri, a similar processions was organized by devotees at Vrindaranyam on 12-July-2021, Monday with spiritual fervour and enthusiasm. Lord Jagannath along with Baldeva and Subhadra was ceremoniously brought out of the temple. They were placed in a chariot which was then pulled by numerous devotees to the Goshala.
The colourful yatra commenced from the academic building at 5 p.m. and returned to the same place at around 8.30 p.m.The festival began with a Maha Arati performed by HG Dharamraj Prabhuji, Pujari of ISKCON temple, Vrindavan. During this festive procession of Jagannath at BGIS, many guest devotees visited the Vrindaranyam campus to see the Lord Jagannath in chariot.
Devotees were busy preparing for the festival which was one of the grandest in the campus. There was an exquisite charm in Vrindaranyam during the days, when preparations for Rath Yatra were in full swing. A special outfit was made by the devotees staying at Vrindaranyam for Lord Jagannath with brother Baldev and sister Subhadra.
Through the procession, every devotee got a chance to pull the chariot. The chariot halted at Goshala and the deities were offered 56 bhogas prepared by devotees using four broad groups of grains, milk products, vegetables & fruits. HG Harikesh Prabhu spoke some enlightening words on the significance of the Rath Yatra and caught everyone's attention with a short quiz. He said that the Ratha Jatra festival has become a common sight in most major cities of the world since 1968 through the Hare Krishna movement by Srila Prabhupada.
Deities were ceremoniously brought back to the temple.The Sankirtana team sang melodious bhajans and kirtans throughout.
